Drywall Installation & Hanging

Professional drywall installation and hanging for remodels, basements, additions, walls, ceilings, and replacement projects. From exposed framing to a professionally finished surface.
Proper drywall installation starts long before the joint compound and texture are applied. Drywall needs to be measured, cut, fitted, positioned, and securely fastened to the framing so the finishing work has a solid foundation. Patch Pros provides professional drywall installation and hanging for residential and commercial projects throughout Denver and the surrounding metro area. With more than 20 years of professional drywall finishing experience, we understand that the way drywall is installed directly affects how well it can ultimately be finished. Poorly fitted sheets, unsupported edges, excessive gaps, improperly placed seams, or drywall that isn’t adequately secured can create problems that become much more difficult to correct after taping and finishing begin. Our drywall installation services include: • New drywall installation • Drywall hanging • Wall and ceiling drywall • Basement drywall • Remodels and renovations • Additions and new rooms • Replacement of damaged drywall • Drywall after plumbing or electrical work • Garage drywall • Partial-room and full-room installation • Residential and commercial drywall projects • Taping, mudding, finishing, and texture after installation More Than Just Hanging Drywall Installing drywall is only one stage of creating a finished wall or ceiling. Once the sheets are installed, the seams, fasteners, corners, and transitions still need to be properly finished before the surface is ready for texture, primer, or paint. Patch Pros can handle the drywall finishing process after installation, including taping, joint compound, multiple finishing coats, sanding, skim coating when necessary, and texture application. That means you don’t necessarily need one company to hang the drywall and another company to finish it. We can take the project from exposed framing through the drywall finishing stage and prepare the surface for its final finish. Why Proper Framing and Backing Matter One thing homeowners don’t always see is how important the structure behind the drywall is. Every drywall edge and repair needs appropriate support. We’ve encountered existing ceilings where what initially appeared to be a simple crack was actually related to drywall that wasn’t adequately secured. In some situations, there wasn’t framing in the location necessary to properly secure the damaged section. When that happens, simply adding joint compound over the surface doesn’t correct the underlying issue. During drywall installation or replacement, we evaluate where the sheets and edges will be secured so the new drywall has a solid foundation before finishing begins. Drywall Replacement After Damage Not every installation project starts with exposed framing. Sometimes existing drywall needs to be removed and replaced because of water damage, significant physical damage, a failed previous repair, plumbing or electrical access, or another renovation project. In those situations, we can remove or prepare the affected drywall as appropriate, install the replacement material, tape and finish the new section, and then match the existing wall or ceiling texture as closely as possible. The amount of drywall that needs to be replaced isn’t always determined solely by the visible hole. Sometimes an opening needs to extend farther so the replacement drywall can be properly supported and secured. Drywall Installation for Remodels and Basements Remodels and basement projects can involve considerably more than installing a few replacement pieces. Patch Pros can install drywall throughout larger areas, including walls and ceilings, and then complete the finishing work necessary to turn the individual sheets into a continuous finished surface. Depending on the desired appearance, the finished drywall can be prepared for an existing texture match, a new texture, or a smooth finish. Walls and Ceilings Require Different Considerations Drywall installation isn’t identical everywhere in a home. Ceilings require careful fastening and support because the drywall is installed overhead. Walls may contain windows, doors, electrical boxes, plumbing penetrations, corners, and other transitions that require accurate cutting and fitting. The type and thickness of drywall required can also depend on where it’s being installed and the requirements of the particular project. We’ll evaluate the space and determine the appropriate approach rather than treating every drywall installation exactly the same. Can Patch Pros Finish Drywall Someone Else Already Installed? Yes. If you or another contractor has already installed the drywall, Patch Pros can evaluate the installation and provide the finishing work necessary to complete the surface. That can include taping, mudding, sanding, skim coating, smooth finishing, and texture. If we find installation problems that could affect the finished result—such as loose drywall, unsupported areas, excessive gaps, or other issues—we’ll point those out before covering everything with joint compound. It’s much easier to correct an installation problem before the entire surface has been finished. What Will the Finished Drywall Look Like? That depends on what you want. Patch Pros can prepare newly installed drywall for a variety of finishes, including orange peel, splatter, knockdown, stomp, smooth finishes, and other existing or new textures. If the new drywall connects to an existing finished surface, we’ll evaluate whether the texture can be locally matched or whether refinishing a larger area would create a more consistent appearance. For smooth walls and ceilings, additional finishing and skim coating may be required because there is no texture to help disguise transitions or minor surface variations. Professional Drywall Installation in Denver Patch Pros provides professional drywall installation and hanging throughout Denver and the surrounding metro area for remodels, basements, additions, repairs, replacement projects, walls, ceilings, garages, and other residential or commercial spaces. Whether you need a few sheets replaced or drywall installed throughout a larger area, we can evaluate the project and determine what is required to take it from framing to a professionally finished surface. Need a drywall installation estimate? Send us photos of the space along with approximate wall and ceiling dimensions and a description of what you’re planning. For larger installation projects, Patch Pros provides free on-site estimates so we can see the space, take measurements, evaluate the scope of work, and discuss the finished result you’re looking for.
