Damaged drywall can make an otherwise great-looking room stand out for all the wrong reasons. Whether you have a small hole, a large damaged section, recurring cracks, plumbing or electrical cutouts, nail pops, damaged seams, dents, or a previous repair that doesn’t look right, Patch Pros specializes in restoring damaged walls and ceilings. With more than 20 years of professional drywall finishing experience, we don’t simply cover the damaged area with joint compound and call it finished. We evaluate what caused the damage, properly prepare the repair, install and secure new drywall when necessary, tape and coat the area, and match the existing texture as closely as possible. A small patch may only require repairing and blending the immediate area, while a larger repair—or several patches spread across the same surface—may look better if the entire wall or ceiling is skim coated and retextured. That’s something we’ll discuss with you rather than automatically recommending the most extensive option. When a local texture match is appropriate, we’ll work to reproduce the existing finish as closely as possible. When refinishing the entire surface would provide a noticeably better result, we’ll explain why and let you decide how you’d like to proceed. We also look beyond the visible damage. A ceiling crack, for example, may simply need to be properly opened, retaped and refinished. But if the drywall moves when inspected, it may have become loose from the framing and need to be resecured before the crack itself is repaired. Fixing the underlying problem helps give the finished repair the best chance of lasting. Previous repairs can also require additional work. We’ve encountered patches that were improperly secured or built out so heavily that simply adding more compound wouldn’t correct the problem. In those situations, removing the previous repair and rebuilding the area correctly may provide a much better finished result. Drywall finishing is a specialized trade. Our goal isn’t simply to make the hole disappear from across the room—it’s to make the repair blend into the surrounding wall or ceiling as closely as humanly possible.
